March for Meals

March What??

March for Meals is a competitive food drive happening March 29th from 8:30am to 11:30am. Teams of five will walk 2.7 miles (roughly 1 hour) WITH their food donations, and the team that carries the most will win! We’re doing this to simulate and bring awareness to the long walks that unhoused individuals and other facing food insecurity do weekly.

Signing up is easy, and participating is even easier. Enroll above, and if you need help finding a team, follow THIS LINK to be taken to a Google Sheet where others who are looking for team members are listing their name and contact info.

A Little History

Los Angeles County is home to one of the largest populations of any county in the nation. We are also home to one of the largest accounts of hunger.

It is estimated that 1 in 4 of our neighbors in Los Angeles County faces food insecurity.

Faces of HungerHungerInLA_Image

Hunger affects old and young alike. While fixed-income seniors, people with disabilities and low-income families are the most visible examples of people who struggle, hunger doesn’t stop there. Hunger affects all groups of people regardless of education level, employment status or ethnicity.
